Spring is in the air…. Or is it friends. We just don’t know here in Canada. Spring is approaching and alas peach blushes are approaching and pastel eye shadow is in the horizon. I will be using some new Revlon products for this Mythic lights ethereal spring look! I am so excited because I haven’t used a ton of Revlon products, just their concealers and a few lip products and these colors are TOTALLY out of my comfort zone.
What does ethereal mean? According to the dictionary, this is what it means: “extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world”. The ethereal aesthetic is almost like the glossier aesthetic or the fairy aesthetic. I went for some inspiration on Pinterest for this look. I’m not a makeup artist but it was fun to create a look that was outside of my brown and pink eye shadow comfort zone.

I started the look with the skin. Revlon sent me their Colorstay Full Cover foundation*. I was really surprised by the formula of this foundation. It was light and airy and didn’t dry out my skin at all. Granted, I use a hella expensive moisturizer so that could be why my skin didn’t dry out using it. I also used the Revlon Candid concealer (not sent to me, simply a concealer I love).

I then went HAM with the highlighter palette. The galaxy dream palette* was sent by Revlon for me to create this look. I actually quite like this, however, it is not as glossy as it could be but it does the trick for fun color-shifting shades. It is a bit powdery, but still blends into the skin nicely. I piled on the 3 shade from the top and it has a beautiful purple-pink shift to it. I’m still a newb at capturing makeup on camera so you can’t really see it in the photos but these highlighters have a beautiful shift to them. Too keep with the ethereal glowy theme I used the darker purple blush in the hourglass ambient lighting palette from this year.

I used the darker cushion lip tint* in 290 extra violet and mixed it with the Fenty lip gloss. They also send the shade 230 Naughty Mauve* which I have been loving for work! These give a beautiful wash of colour on the lips and aren’t drying.

For the eyes, I used the galaxy dream palette and the two cream eye shadows in the package. The colors are 750 and 760. Shade 760* is called earl grey. It is a beautiful silver that creates a lovely smattering of glitter of the lid. The other shade, 750* is called Vanilla. It is a light white shade that is perfect for the inner corner. I really like these. They are pigmented and beautifully sparkly without being too chunky. I used the purple-pink highlighter in the inner corner.
Are you into the ethereal look for Spring?
