Welcome to day four folks! We are talking a matte foundation. Matte foundations are something I always want to love, then try and they end up feeling quite dry. However, I have had the Sephora collection matte foundation in my collection for a while after my mom gave it to me because it didn’t suit her skin. I do think it’s on its last leg simply because I found it did break me out around my chin after one wear so I don’t know how accurate this foundation review will be.
The claims: A weightless foundation with buildable coverage that blurs imperfections and conceals blemishes for a smooth and natural finish. Did I metion that this also comes in 60 shades???? Who knew!

Okay so let’s start with the weightless claim. 100% this is a weightless foundation and I find that it’s actually not too matte. It really has more a satin finish with a medium coverage. I find that because this is so old (I think my mom bought this about 2 years ago) that it is not good for my skin anymore. I have heard Mariah Leonard talk about this and how it’s a wonderful combination of matte and satin. It truly is, for me, however, I think because of the whole expiry thing it’s irritated my skin.
Application: My preferred application method for this foundation is a sponge. I like to sheer it out so it isn’t detectable but this conceals like a champ. While this might have caused my breakouts on my chin, it also covered them quite well so who’s the real champion here. This also wears extremely well. I work quite long hours and this foundation holds up during a long day with minimal wearing off. Then again, I don’t tend to apply the foundation to my jawline but I do apply it to my chin so it wears well on their too.

The Price: $26.50 CAD for 25ml of product. This is a good price for a foundation. This is on par with drugstore foundations so I think that it’s definitely worth a go if you are looking for a long wear foundation for any occassion this is a good option.

Overall rating: 5/5 stars. I cannot fault this foundation for possibly being expired because that would be my own blunder of putting it on my skin because who knows a new one might cause the same reaction. In terms of wear time, it is lovely. I took a before and after photo ( i didn’t do this for any other one) because of the title of this foundation and wore extremely well.
I totally agree with using a sponge! I wasn’t overly impressed with the foundation but it was definitely better than a lot I’ve tried!
