I tried this last year, and it clearly did not become the series I wanted it to be on this blog rather I posted a photo on Instagram and never did an accompanying blog post so it appears. When the pandemic hit, similar to other folks I know in my life, I bought a lot of shit that I did not need, as did a lot of people I knew, and that included a lot of makeup. Makeup that I did not need, so this year I am attempting to shop my stash more this year than I did last year by changing everything up monthly to brand new products in my collection.
The base products
I am closer to using up the Glossier skin tint than other products in my collection so this is naturally a pic for the month. I wanted to add in the Smashbox foundation, a new foundation of Josie Maran, and the NARS Tinted moisturizer in Alaska. I also wanted to use the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless filter and the Kiehl’s Glow Skin Hydrator as primer. I threw in three concealers, the Kosas Revealer concealer, the Fitglow concealer, and the Glossier Stretch Concealer.
The cheek products
I have two bronzers that I wanted to use this month. I wanted to get back into the Fenty Cream Bronzer and the Vesca bronzer kissed by Rio because these are both lighter bronzers for me. I also threw in the Smashbox Cali Contour palette because I’ve fallen back in love with this palette. I also chose two blushes: the Clinique Cola Pop powder blush and the Flower Beauty pinched blush. For highlighter I wanted to choose a cream and a powder product. I used the Guerlain Terracotta nude and the MAC Soft n Gentle highlighter. I also have the ELF Cosmetics Cream blush palette so that I have a cream option.
The lip products and single shadow
I chose five lipsticks for this category (love that for me). The Essence Real lipstick is one of my darker nudes, and then I also put in the YSL liquid lipstick in a nice pumpkin shade, the MAC Tessa Virtue lipstick, and the Cheekbone matte lipstick in askhik, and the Burt’s Bees lipstick in butter blush. These are all nice wintery and nude shades. I also chose the Colourpop sunflower supershock shadow.
Eyeshadow palettes
I cannot stop using the Makeup by Mario master mattes palette. I cannot believe how good this palette is. The mattes are so blendable, and it makes me want the shimmers. I also added in the Naked Honey palette for some golden tones. I also wanted to use the Iconic London nude palette and the NARS Climax Extreme Effects palette. All of these palettes are more on the neutral side and they feel nice and wintery to me.
