I find myself often not posting about the products that I either I don’t like, or that just don’t work for me, or are not what I thought hey would be when I bought them. I wanted to make a list of some recent products that I have found just do not tickle my fancy.
Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette
This is not my favourite naked palette. I feel like this might be an unpopular opinion, but as much as I try to love this one, I just don’t like the colour story on me. I find that the colours really pull a bit too mustard on me. I find that my looks for this look like they are missing something. I find that no matter how hard I try I find that this palette just pulls so yellow/poopy on me that it’s not the look I ever want when I try to use it. I was hoping this would be nice and bronze on me, but I find that for the types of looks I want to do, I gravitate towards my Natasha Denona Bronze palette that has similar shimmers and mattes without looking like the tones in the Naked Honey.
Biossance lactic acid
I really wanted to love this product. I bought it at the recommendation of the thebirdspapaya but I didn’t find this to even do what it said it would do. I thought this might be similar to Sunday Riley good genes, that I found were so gentle, but this I swear broke me out anytime that I try to use it. I keep trying it and each time my skin does not have a good reaction. I much prefer the Alper oils dream beam which I didn’t repurchase because I purchased this one. I think I am going to repurchase the dream beam next after I finish the wishful one.
Youth to the people facial oil
Similar to the Biossance I found this oil to be quite pore clogging versus other oils I have tried that hydrate a lot better (i.e the wishful rose oil though it smells bad that one works far better). I kept trying it in conjunction with all my moisturizers and it was not doing anything. I much prefer the Alper oils dream beam which I didn’t repurchase because I purchased this one. I think I am going to repurchase the dream beam next after I finish the wishful one.
NYX Born to Glow Foundation
I wanted to love this so much. It has all the boxes that I wanted: born to glow, naturally radiant. Count me in! No this foundation is more of a satin leaning matte finish. While it is nice, I just didn’t find that flattering on my skin compared to other foundations that have similar claims. The other foundation I can think of that claims to be a medium coverage, radiant foundation is the IT Cosmetics your skin but better foundation. The IT Cosmetics actually does maintain that radiance where as I found the NYX to just sit on top of my dry/dehydrated skin.
No 7 cleansing balm
I was hoping this would be similar to the Clinique take the day off balm but it is not. This does not get off my makeup, clouds my eyes, and has a bit of strange scent. Overall, I probably will have to trash this because it just doesn’t make my skin feel good.
