Physicians Formula X Weylie Palette Review

When I saw this palette on shoppersdrugmart I knew I had to get it. Physicians formula generally comes out with influencer collabs in these huge boxes, so when this was in the thin box (albeit no mirror) with the butter formula throughout I knew it was something I wanted in my collection.

The palette has two bronzers, two blushes, and to highlighters, and two blushes. The formula is not different from the singles. On the website, Weylie says she wanted to make something that was easy for people to use to create various different looks. The palette is also in collaboration with the Best Friends Animal Society which makes me even happier to purchase. I would like to say I don’t watch Weylie but I did watch her video on this and I like that she created a palette for medium skin tones.

The two bronzers in Deep Bronzer and sunset bronzer. The deep bronzer is a golden tan with a satin finish and sunset bronzer is a deep taupe with a satin finish. I believe these are also in their regular line. I have the single in sunkissed bronzer and because I love the formula I will likely keep the single in my line as well .. though I haven’t fully decided.

The blushes are beautiful and have a nice satin finish. One of them is a nice mauve shade and the other blush shade is a nice peach shade appropriately names Apricot. I really enjoy that these blushes can be used as eye shadows and can be mixed together.

The highlighters are a whimsical and golden hour. Whimsical is a pink highlighter with gold running throughout. It has a nice satin-glassy finish on the skin. I did not think I would be able to wear the golden hour shade because of how dark it looks but surprisingly it works pretty well on my skin. That is a rose gold shade.

Verdict: I’d say for the price of $24.99 Canadian I don’t know if this is worth it in Canada. There is no mirror and the formula is pretty similar to the singles. I find the formula in this palette is far more pigmented than the single I have of the sunkissed bronzer. I would give this a 3/5 stars simply because of the price and lack of mirror. I really do like this palette because I have an infatuation with face palettes.

Rolling Project 10 Pan 2019 intro

I am so excited to start my new project pan for 2019. I have picked a product from all the categories in my makeup collection. A cream, powder and of course a matte and shimmery bronzer. I have a few set goals in mind and I will be rolling in products as I go. If I either finish one, or if I get extremely bored by one I will just roll in a new one. I will attempt to update monthly but if I don’t have significant progress than I will forgo the update for that month.

The base products

First Aid Beauty Tinted Moisturizer

I really like this, however it does pull a bit dark on me. I am hoping to finish this within the first month of this project and by the next update roll something new in.

Revlon concealer

This concealer is amazing, I really like it. I can feel like it’s nearing it’s end. I hope to also be done this by the first update and roll in something new.

Nudestix Tinted blur stick

Again, another of my favourite base products. I LOVE this so much. It is so sheer and creates a dewy finish even with its blurring properties. I also think this is something I can have finished by the next update.

The Body Shop multi stick

This was a favourite from summer 2016-17 and I wanted to get more use out of it. It doesn’t appear to be available online anymore but I am sure you can find it in store. I am hoping to finish this one this year or at least, see a significant shortening (is that a word) of the stick itself.

Physicians Formula Butter blush

This is also in my project pan roulette, okay is this cheating? Yes quite possible. But I really like it and want to hit pan on it.  It is a perfect nude blush for my skin tone and it gives my cheeks a healthy glow.

Physicians Formula Butter bronzer

I have already hit pan on it and hope to further expand the pan. I still enjoy this and hope that I can finish it this year.

Joe Fresh Highlighter

I chose a few highlighters for this project. A girl has got to have choices. I do quite like this and it is a bit older in my collection so I want to see this used as much as I can. Hopefully I can see some progress each month!

Rimmel London Kate Sculpting Palette

This is another older product in my collection and I’m not sure they sell this exact shade anymore. As you might remember, my products on the chopping block this was in it. I discovered I love the bronzer and want to hit pan on this one this year.

Essence pure nude highlighter

This was one of my first YouTube made me buy it products. I do quite enjoy this highlighter. It is subtle and pretty and never fails me.

Becca Champagne Pop

A moment of silence for the fallen one. I can still use this despite it’s appearance. I can use this with my finger and with a brush still. I think it will actually be quite easy to use up so it was a good attainable project pan goal for me to have this year.

Are you doing a project pan this year?

Pin this for later!

Blune Day 18: The Makeup I wore to convocation

Alas, I recently did a post about what I learned in university and today I thought I would write about what I wore makeup wise for my graduation. It was a very hot day, I’m talking plus 40 and the humidity was quite the time. I wanted to keep my base light but still nice enough for the photos and the flash photography.

butter-bronzerFor my base I decided to go with the Body Shop Fresh nude foundation and the Wet ‘n’ wild photo focus concealer. I then used the Nudestix Bondie Bae to do some bronzing because since it was so hot I wanted to use some cream products. I then using my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer over the top for a bit of extra bronze because I love me a bronzy glow. Then I went with my tried and true classic the Balm Mary- Lou Manizer. For my blush I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit, I mixed the two blushes because they were neutral and matched my whole look.

cover-fx

As an overall setting product I used the Cover Fx perfect setting powder which worked well, but quite honestly I was sweating like a mammer so I can’t say this really stood the test of setting but I feel like it did a decent job so I’m giving it all the credit.

naked-3-

For my eyes, again a tried and true I used the Naked 3 palette. I just love the Naked 3, I know a controversial fave. I used Limit and nooner in the crease, then mugshot all over the lid and dusk on the inner corner. I just love the simple looks you can create and the looks are simple and classy which is what I was going for.

For the lips I went with Lush perspective. Again my favourite. Every time I have a job interview or special event I wear this. IT is the perfect my lips but better colour and works with basically any eyeshadow and blush.

What is your go to hot weather makeup?
