Current Favourite Nude Lipsticks

I did one of these posts last year outlining some of my favourite nude lipsticks that I wore pretty much on the daily. I love nude lips and they are pretty much the only colour I wear, other than coral. I used to be very into mauves and purples but right now my makeup style is more the coral and nude lips route. I wanted to give you all an update on my current faves that I’ve been rotating between!

Burt’s bees suede splash

A repeat from last year. This is a slightly darker nude for my skin tone but works with most makeup looks I create. It is a beige nude that has a hint of rose.

Covergirl sultry sienna

This is such a lovely shade of lipstick. I find that it is the perfect my lips but better shade. It is only a shade darker than my natural lip color. I also really like the smell of these lipsticks.

Cheekbone beauty Melina

A new favourite that I have been wearing pretty much every day since I got this. The Cheekbone beauty liquid lipstick in Melina. What a lovely, matte but not drying everyday lipsticks. This has a peachy rose undertone and lasts forever on the lips without crumbling off like other liquid lipsticks I’ve used in the pasts. It also has a great meaning behind it (more to come in my cheekbone beauty brand review I’m just slow). Again, this is my lips but better shade as are most of the ones in this blog post.

Clockwise from the bottom: Fenty Gloss balm, Burt's Bees Peony Dew, pixi natural rose lip balm

Fenty gloss bomb

The Fenty gloss bomb is definitely my go-to gloss for any day of the week. It has a rose gold shift that doesn’t make my lips looks strange like many true nude glosses make my lips look. I can wear this on its own or layer it.

Burt's Bees Peony Dew laying beside Fenty Gloss

Pixi lip balm in Natural Rose

Covergirl Sultry Sienna beside Pixi natural rose lip balm

This is lovely hydrating lip product. It is exactly what it sounds like, a rose lip balm. This lip product is easy to wear and has a lovely hydrating finish. AGAIN this is my lips but better shade for me. It fades nicely and lasts quite a long time.

Burt’s bees Peony Dew

This is part of their glossy finish lipstick. It is a bit pinker than it’s counterparts. It has a rose pink base but still fits into the nude category for me on my lips. I find the natural shade of my lips pulls pinky purple so this one fits into the nude lip category for me.

April Favourites Revisited

I have seen a few content creators do this type of post/video. I think that beautywithemilyfox was the first person I saw do this type of post. I wanted to revisit my favourites from a year ago (some of these are the same products) and see if I still like them and if I still use them. This is a good way, not only to see if my makeup taste has changed but also to see just how long products can last when you don’t use them as consistently as someone who only owns one highlighter and one foundation.

Thayers lavender toner

Thayers toner

This is still one of my favourite toners. I find that it is very gentle and has a lovely light lavender scent. I find that it keeps my skin hydrated and balances it quite nicely. It also keeps spots at bay.

NARS forte De France highlighter

NARS Highlighter

I still adore this highlighter. This was one of my first, other than the balm Mary Lou Manizer, high-end highlighters. I love how smooth the formula is and that as a powder, it looks glossy on the cheeks. It has not turned me into the Anna Edit yet but alas I love the glow it gives.

Caudalie essence

Caudalie Essence

This product has changed my skin. I love it. It is a gentle hydrating yet chemically exfoliating product. It has a lovely scent because of Caudalie’s iconic grape water that also adds that boost of hydration. I highly recommend this if you have sensitive skin and want a chemical exfoliant. I put some on my hands and then pat it into my skin.

Lush Karma perfume

This has been living in my travel bag/my purse, hence why it isn’t in the photos. I still love this scent. It is rather strong but doesn’t last all day so I can justify putting quite a bit on and then it usually fades by the time I come into contact with other humans. This is a patchouli based scent and is rather warm but also citrusy. This isn’t usually a scent I would go for but I do like warm scents and fresh scents. I would definitely get the spray once I run out of the solid!

Top shop jeans

Topshop jeans

Ah, the classic jeans. Friends, these no longer fit me. These are real, no stretch, 100% cotton jeans so I gained maybe an inch on my waist and they no longer do up! I still own them, not in hopes that I will lose weight, but because if I ever did I don’t have to buy new pairs … I know my mom would say “if you did lose weight you’d want new jeans” which might be true, but for me, these were such a staple in my wardrobe I can see them becoming a staple as I do more cardio and body weight workouts!

The Body Shop  Fresh Nude foundation

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation

Since buying this last year it has become one of my holy grail foundations. It has a lovely satin finish and looks skin like on the skin. It builds very nicely but also looks lovely sheered out in an even layer. I tend to use half a pump and put it on the parts of my face that I feel need a bit of evening out. There definitely isn’t enough shades in this range. Selfishly I really like this because I have my shade and it doesn’t irritate my skin. I hope they come out with even more on the darker end of the scale because right now its a 50 shades of beige situation.

Things I liked and did: October and November

I missed this post last month cause I just didn’t have a ton of stuff to discuss! I decided to combine October and November. I  have had an interesting past few months in terms of life decisions and experiences that are the beginning of this adult life. I also have a flop I wanted to share because it didn’t warrant a full review!

Makeup

Physicians Formula highlighter - open, pearly white shade with a creamy texture
Hourglass ambient lighting unlocked palette - all shades being displayed including finishing powders, bronzer, nude blush, plum blush and champagne highlighter.
Nudestix Pencils three shades
Covergirl Palette - open

The Physicians Formula butter highlighter. Since this is in my project pan 12 Pans of Christmas I have been using this quite a bit. I love it. I liked it when I got it but because I’m always trying new things I often forget to give myself the time to really love something. It gives that beautiful satin sheen to the skin without being glittery and can be built up to full opacity. I really have been enjoying this and want to keep using for my rolling 10 pan in 2019.

Hourglass Ambient unlocked palette. All I can say is this is luxury beauty dreams. This palette isn’t the best value for money but it’s so convenient. It has everything you need for an entire look! Including eye shadow, which is amazing! All the powders seamlessly blend onto the skin and make for that lit from within look. Unfortunately this is only available in select stores now so my review isn’t really needed anymore if you can’t access it! Due to the strike I got this quite late then I was working so alas! If you would still like a review comment below.

Covergirl Trueblend Super Stunner Highlighting palette in the shade  it’s lit . I talked about this in my highlight round up. These are great highlighters. A bit on the powdery side but don’t come off as powdery on the skin. All the shades work on my skin tone and they have another palette as well. I have been enjoying this also on the eyes as an inner corner highlighter. Can’t recommend this enough. Covergirl also just went cruelty free!

Nudestix eye pencils. Can confirm – these do not crease. Literally every other fricken eye pencil I’ve used creases. Not these! I love all Nudestix products and these are no exception. They blend beautifully with a finger or a brush and give enough dimension to make it look like you have a few different colours on. I also like to use them for that “model off duty” look I attempt to go for.

Skincare

GlamGlow moisturizer - nude shade
Vichy Thermale Cleanser - white bottle, blue cap.

Glamglow mega illuminating moisturizer. I never thought I would buy a $62 moisturizer but I have. This is a beautiful effective moisturizer. It gives the right amount of dew that and sits beautifully under makeup.

Vichy 3 in 1 cleanser. This was a product I bought on a whim at shoppers. I was curious about its effect as it’s a three in one cleanser. I have to say since I’ve started using this my skin has been a lot clearer than it used to be. Not that it was bad before but I find this is so nice and gentle my skin isn’t the slightest bit irritated

Other stuffs

Being a coach again! I still love coaching and learn something new each time from my former coach and mentor. I love teaching the skaters and giving them life lessons while I’m at it (just like my coach used to do for me). It’s nice to be home and be able to volunteer at a place I love volunteering for.

The flop

The biggest flop of the past two months is the Covergirl Trueblend liquid foundation. This is the one shoppers sent me and it’s not what I ordered … and they never responded … in any case I kept it because upon swatching it on the back of my hand it was fresh and dewy. I thought great maybe a dupe for the Body Shop Fresh nude foundation (I really must do a review on this one as I haven’t yet). wrong I was. This foundation gave my skin quite the reaction and looked horrible on my skin. It was breaking up and emphasizing peach fuzz and also it didn’t sit well under powder. I really wanted to like it but alas tis a flop.

Things I liked and Did in September

Ah, its that time again where I say the cliche, where did the last month go? To be quite honest I haven’t done a whole ton of stuff. I started figure skating again and have just been on the hunt for a job in field! However, I still found a few standout products from the month to share with you today.

flatlay-2

NYX dose of dew

nyx-does-of-dew

The dose of dew from NYX was a YouTube made me buy it purchase. I got this quite a while ago while I was still at school and I originally got it to compare it to the Nudestix one (which I love) but the one is ever so slightly more user friendly. The Nudestix one stays sticky throughout the day and never sets but I find the NYX does set but doesn’t lose any of that sheen.

NYX Olive You palette

eyeshadow

NYX-Eyeshadow-open

I have been loving this palette. The quality is amazing and the Olive tones are perfect for the fall but also nicely balanced out by the purple and neutral shades in the palette. I really have been loving creating with this palette and it really got me out my neutral brown eye shadow comfort zone. I really like that this has a variety of shades for the fall and you can do simple looks to more editorial looks. I am planning to do a full review and three looks so stay tuned for that in October!

Mac See sheer

MAC-see-Sheer

I have mentioned this far too many times on the blog since I got it during the Sephora Appreciation Sale. It is just the perfect pink-red sheer no mirror lipstick that I didn’t know I needed in my life. As soon as I swatched, I knew I was playing a dangerous game with my wallet. I want all the shades in this formula…I know that’s pretty extensive but this formula is now on my top 5 lipstick formulas (would you like to see a post on my top 5 lipsticks because I can do that).

The Marcelle micellar water

Marcelle-Micellar-Water

I have tried the Garnier one previously and it was okay, I just found I really had to rub and get my mascara off. Even when I held it there for a few seconds it still didn’t come off well. Look no further for the best micellar water on the market in Canada, the Marcelle one is just amazing. There are four options for different skin types. I bought the one for dry skin because I tend to have drier skin in the winter months. I literally cleans my skin, I wouldn’t just use this as a cleanser because I am an avid double cleaner, but I love this to take off stubborn mascara because it really gets the bulk (if not all) of it off.

Mixing a hydrating serum into foundations

serum-and-NYX-Foundation

I have been loving mixing the Neutrogena Hydro boost serum into different foundations to both sheer them out and make=slightly more hydrating. I’ve been mixing this in with my First Aid Beauty tinted moisturizer, the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation and the wet n wild photo focus foundation (not sure how I feel about this, I like the finish but it makes my skin itchy so alas). I really like how much this sheers out the foundation and that it makes my skin feel more hydrated. Look out for a full review on the foundation soon!

Hanging out with my cat

IMG_3528 (1).JPG

I know this is a bit of lame favorite for the month but I haven’t lived with my cat this long since we got her in the summer of 2016. It’s so nice to have a little critter wandering around, meowing, hunting, and cuddling! Yes, this is a bit of an odd favourite but it’s been nice just chilling with my bean.

What did you like this past month?!

Makeup Stash Fridays: Fall Lipsticks

I have been wanting to do one of these types of post for awhile. If you have been around the beauty YouTube space there used to be videos called my makeup stash where people would go through their collections and showcase their stashes in different categories. I wanted to start a similar series but for seasons. So for every category of makeup I’m going to do a “stash” for that season. I am also going to attempt to do this every Friday hence the title “Makeup Stash Fridays”. For today, I’m going to do the lipsticks that I’m going to use for the fall season, excluding my project pan lipsticks the Joe Fresh Lip balm, 100% Pure Lip caramel in Truffle and the Milani Lipstick in Nude Creme. So every Friday look out for a post like this one!

The Berries

berry-lips

berry-swatches

From Left to right: NYX Prague, Colourpop Blotted lipstick in Bees knees, ELF liquid lipstick in Berry Sorbet, Bite Beauty Beetroot

First, as we typically think of fall we have the berry shades.  My first most used and oldest fall shade is the classic NYX soft matte lip cream Prague. It’s a beautiful pinky berry shade and smells like vanilla. It almost has a blotted lip look and despite the name its not drying on the lips. These all come in a load of shades. The next one that is very similar is the Colourpop blotted lipstick (also please someone tell me are these discontinued because I cannot find them on their site). This is a very similar shade to the NYX – a perfect fushia pink berry. Next is a classic ELF liquid lipstick in Berry Sorbet. It’s a darker more purple berry then the previous ones and have a nice soft matte finish. Finally my most expensive option of the bunch the Bite Beauty Amuse bouche lipstick in beetroot. I bought this because of ttsandra on YouTube and it’s the perfect bold berry shade.

The brown nudes with a hint of rose

rose-hued-lippies

rose-hued-swatches

Left-Right: Bite Beauty Honeycomb, Wet n Wild Bare it All, Burt’s Bees Suede Splash, Bite Beauty Chai,, Bite Beauty Rhubarb, Mineral Fusion Adorn

I love me a good solid nude lipstick, borderline too much beige with a hint of rose. First up we have my tried and true favourite lipstick shade Lush Perspective (sadly no longer available). It’s a beautiful rose toned liquefied lipstick that is the perfect your lips but better shade. Next are two similar friends, the Wet n wild lipstick in Bare it All that seems to get through all my declutterers and its glossier counterpart the Burt’s Bees lipstick in suede splash. Both are beige nude shades with a just enough of a pink undertone to still look good against my fair skin. The three Bite Beauty shades we have are the mini chai shade which is a mauve brown shade and honeycomb which is a true beige nude, one I like to mix with another more pink shade. Then we have the shade rhubarb which is a dark plum rose shade. Finally a glossy true brown options is the mineral fusion sheer moisture lip tint in adorn.

The pinks and reds

red toned lippies

red-lip-swatches

Left to Right: Bite Beauty Sugarcane, Burt’s Bees Tahitian Sunset, MAC See Sheer, Burt’s Bees Scarlet Soaked, Nudestix Sin

I only have a few (you guessed) rosy red shades for this category. Of course if you follow me on instagram you know I love MAC see Sheer. It is described as a grapefruit pink but I think on my lips it definitely feels like a pink red you wear when you don’t want to fuss with a red lip. The no fuss red lip I like is the Burts Bees lipstick in Scarlet soaked. I find you can build this up to full opacity or just blot it on over a lip balm. Next is the Burt’s Bees glossy lip crayon in Tahitian Sunset alongside its cooler toned counterpart the Nudestix lip and cheek pencil in Sin. I also didn’t have a place for this one colour wise but I’m trying to use the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in sugarcane which is a true pastel pink so I’m attempting to use it as a mixing shade.

The easy glosses

glossy-lips

glossy-swatches

Left to right: Fenty Gloss Bomb, ELF gotta glow lip tint in Perfect Pink

The two glossy sheer lip products I have are the Fenty Gloss bomb in Fenty Glow. This lip gloss literally makes your lips look like glass. It can be worn on its own and over any lipstick. Next is something that I didn’t realize how much I used until I looked at the bullet and that’s the ELF cosmetics beautifully bare gotta glow lip tint in perfect pink. It is the perfect lip tint to throw in your purse and use on your daily errands.

What is in your fall lipstick stash?

My Favourite Beauty and Lifestyle Creators

I watch a lot of YouTube, as you may have realized and as my friends all know. Surprisingly one of the most popular questions I get is “which youtubers do you watch” and I always tell them my top ones which tend to be slightly bigger channels so in today’s post I’m gonna hit on a few smaller YouTubers. I also think I might make this into a series, like My favourite bloggers and content creators with varying size in platforms. Today’s editions are the somewhat smaller YouTubers that I follow!

Aleeza/stylishandliterate. Aleeza has 15k subscribers Aleeza is a Canadian Youtuber (YES AMIRIGHT). She is mainly a beauty and lifestyle gal, she has great vlogs, great beauty content and a super soothing voice. I love her declutter series, her favourites and her vlogs. Essentially everything about her makes me happy. I really trust her skincare recommendations and I love her makeup style.

aleeza

Crueltyfreebecky. She has 7k subscribers. I LOVE this channel so much. She is a British cruelty free and vegan Youtuber who has great content that is always informative and fun to watch. She tries a lot of cool brands and also gives you an idea of what makeup is outside of our reach in Canada. I like that she has a lot of thrifted content, a lot of ideas for vegan meals (I’m not a vegan but a lot of vegan recipes are cruelty free so it’s a win). Here is her instagram.

crueltyfree becky

Kelly Gooch. She has about 31k, a bit bigger than my first two faves.  I discovered her when I forayed into the project panning side of YouTube. She creates really original or at least less common content then some of the bigger folk on YouTube which I love. She has really inspired me to shop my stash and pan products. I also like that she doesn’t make me want to buy things (as with crueltyfreebecky) but she also adds things into her collection with such thought and research that I have been inspired to do the same. Here is her Instagram.

Kelly gooch

Rebecca Morgan. Again, supporting my Canadian gals, she has 3k subscribers. I found her through searching for project panning and she is just such a gem. I love her style and aesthetic and her videos. She always does realistic challenges like her 1 month 2 palettes, and I love her amount of empties content because it really inspires me to use up product! Here is her Instagram.

Ymorbeauty. This is the smallest channel I will discuss today. Her name is Romy and she as a great, well curated blog with informative and interesting content and has just started posting more on her YouTube channel that has 307 subscribers. I love her instagram page, its inspiring for me to be more creative with my flat lays. Go follow her, you won’t be disappointed.

Blune Day 26: Things I liked and Did in June

How is it almost July? I just can’t believe how this summer has flown by! I wanted to pop up a little Things I liked and did in June. There aren’t many makeup products this month but there are just a lot of good happenings and good skincare bits.

Let’s start with the makeup: The Lush emotional brilliance powder. This is such a surprise to me. It has talc in it which can be drying but it’s sets my under eyes so well and doesn’t dry them out. Because it is so hot here, this has actually been the perfect setting powder and I find it doesn’t ever look cakey.

lush-powder

The only other makeup item is the Joe Fresh tinted Lip balm in the shade mango. I have been reaching for it quite often and keep it in my work bag. It’s a really beautiful formula and just glides right on. This is such a hidden gem of the Canadian drugstore and is from a cruelty free brand. Bonus! I try to shop all cruelty free but more on that in a future post I have planned. These also come in so many colours and smell like candy which is always a big plus in my books.

lush-celestial

The second item I have been loving is Lush celestial which I have never tried before. It is really moisturizing and non irritating thus far. That has been my age old problem is I will buy a moisturizer and it will immediately sort of burn my skin or create some sort of irritation. I would like to try some Korean skincare brands and of course the Drunk elephant lala retro cream, but for now I have been loving this lush formula.

tea-tree

The Body Shop tea tree oil. I replaced my Thursday Plantation one with this and I just love it. I know there are dermatologists out there and skincare brand founders that are against the use of essential oils but I find that this really zaps any problems I am having with pimples.

My degree! I am so excited to have finally attained the most expensive paper of my life. My graduation day was wonderful, I’m so glad to have finally complete my degree and learned so much about myself and the world along the way. It is such a good feeling to have finally attained the degree I always dreamed of getting, which sounds odd but women’s studies has taught me so many things that I cannot put into words in such a small paragraph. I also had the most wonderful day,  I saw all my friends, my parents, my aunt and soon I will be home to see my Buttons!

20180618_121503.jpg

Doing Blune! I made the decision to Blune around the end of May because I really wanted to challenge myself to make at least 27 pieces of content (so not everyday in June) but most days. I have been loving this, and been loving discovering other new blogs through this journey. I can’t wait to continue to blog more and more for the small community that takes the time to read my blog.

This was a short and sweet favourites because June has been such a busy month with Blune, with moving and packing. What did you love in June?

Blune Day 14: lip formulas I enjoy

Ah yes, as you might know my one of my favourite makeup items are lipsticks. I don’t know about you, but I am always searching for the perfect nude, the perfect berry, the perfect red in colour and formula. I have found that my favourite types of lipsticks are the barely there formulas that pack a punch in pigmentation.

This is not surprise to many of you, but I love all the Burts Bees formulas and cannot wait to get my hands on their new liquid lipsticks. I like the glossy lip formula, their lip balm, the regular semi matte lip formula, the shimmer lip balms. My favourite two are the glossy lip pencil and the glossy lipsticks. I wear these on the daily. In my purse I always carry at least one or the lip balm depending on the day. They play well with lip liners and lip glosses. The best part is the clean ingredients and the pigmentation of all the colours. I haven’t found a shade I don’t like! As well if you are a minimal makeup wearer I think these would look beautiful with just them on the lips then some mascara.

Burts Bees glossy lipstick and

Joe Fresh Matte Cushion Lipstick

The other lip formulas I love are from Joe Fresh. Their lip balms are so lovely. They are glossy and not to thick and come in a variety of colours. The packaging feels weighty and you don’t need a mirror for these which is a plus in my books. The other lip formula that I have spoken about before is are the matte cushion lipsticks that are beautiful. They feel sticky when they go on, but immediately dry to a nice comfortable matte formula which is hard to find.

Nudestix cream lip and cheek pencils. I have the shade Sin, a cool toned rose.  I want some more Nudestix lip products because they are just so good. Literally every thing from the brand is great. I only have one lip and cheek pencil in the shade saint (it also looks beautiful on the cheeks). The formula is a bit thicker but dries down to a nice cream stain on the lips that I an a personal fave of (if you haven’t been able to tell already).

Colourpop Blotted lipstick

Lush Lipstick in perspecitve

The Colourpop blotted lipsticks. These are the most beautifully lightweight matte lipsticks. They have almost a powdery finish but I like them because they don’t dry out my lips and look beautiful built up or just as a stain.

The Lush lipsticks. The Lush liquid lipsticks are so good. They are unfortunately discontinued but I really like these. The finish is beautiful, I like them rubbed into a lip balm or built up to a their full pigmentation.

all-open.png

Last but not least, the Pixi tinted lip balms. I love these and have talked about them before. These are the best tinted lip balm in my humble opinion. I think that they have the best finish to them. They last a long time, last through eating and never make my lips feel dry.

What are your favourite lipsticks?

Blune Day 4: My Summer Essentials

Summer essentials! Okay so it’s not officially summer yet, but to me it is close enough to run you through some of my favourite items for summer!

First, what you are likely all here for (okay maybe not but I’d like to think so) the makeup. I am a big lover of cream products for the summer. I have a few to share with you. Both from brands you can only get in Canada, which kind of makes my heart warm because I love supporting fellow Canadian brands. The Annabelle cream highlighter in champagne, if you can you should buy this immediately. It is a beautiful, sheen on the skin, not glittery, not sticky, just the perfect glow to add to the cheekbones. Again, another cream face product, the Joe Fresh cream blush in peach glow. Can you sense a trend here? I love glow. This is a beautiful glowy blush that you will love if you love glow. The final cheek product is a peachy blush. I don’t know, but I wear peach blush essentially year round, but in the summer there is something about an easy peach blush to wear on the cheeks and eyes.

Joe Fresh Peach Glow and Annabelle Light Champagne

Elf beautifully bare concealer

burts-bees-bare-peach.png

A lightweight concealer. It has been super hot, like 38 degrees celsius, and basically everything just melts off. The ELF beautifully bare concealer is a lightweight concealer that blends beautifully under the eyes. It does have a bit of waxy texture, but after you have warmed it up that goes away and it has a weightless feeling (as the name might suggest). However the shade range is a sight for sore eyes. I would recommend the Nudestix one as a good alternative just at a more expensive price point. Keeping it with the eyes, cream eyeshadow. Again, this is probably the upteenth time I have talked about these, but the fricken Colourpop Supershock shadows are my favourite. They come in a variety of shades, are super creamy but dry to a soft powder finish and are crease proof.

colourpop twitterpated

colourpop blotted lips

Lips, one of my favourite makeup items. Lip anything really, lip balms, lip gloss, lip creams you name it I probably enjoy it. The Colourpop Blotted lipstick quickly became a favourite after I tried them for the first time. They don’t come in a lot shades in the traditional form, but they do have them in a liquid form as well if you want more shade options. They are matte but I don’t find them drying and perfect for summer. I love the brightness of them but also they sheerness which is a bonus if you are going for that barely there look.

tie-waisted-pants

Tie waist pants. These are my favourite types of pants to wear in the summer. They are stylish and easy to pair with pretty much any top. They make for a mobile work pant (looking at you skirt mobility) and can be found at a variety of price ranges. Again, I know it’s summer, but I do love me a good mom jean with a camisole. The Topshop raw hem high waisted jeans are my favourite jeans, I also love the American Eagle Vintage high rise, which is not longer a fit but they have many similar ones. I recommend these if you want a bit more stretchiness in your jean life. They hug you in all the right places and are perfect for a casual Friday at work or a night outing with your friends.

What are your favourite things to have for the summer?

Things I liked and Did in May

May was such an interesting month. I turned 23, I got my degree awarded and I saw my wee Buttons this month. I discovered a few things makeup wise, got to see my bestie, and visit home.

IMG_1698

IMG_1704

This month I have been loving podcasts, Full Coverage and Breaking Beauty are two of my personal favourites. Full Coverage is two British gals living in LA. Lindsey Kelk and Harriet Hadfield, they are hilarious and always have so many new products to discuss and also discuss real issues in beauty and consumerism! Breaking Beauty is two Canadian women who talk product and also talk with founders about how their companies came to be. Its inspiring and a great podcast for beauty lovers!

I wanted to throw in a YouTuber favourite, Melissa Alatorre. She is an amazing makeup artist and I could watch her blend out an eyeshadow all day. It is so evident that she is passionate about her craft and I love that she really knows what she is doing. I have gained so many makeup tips from her that I do everyday.

sotfglam.png

Ah, the Anastasia soft glam palette. Why is this so good? Dear me, I cannot get over the quality of these shadows. They are blendable, pigmented, beautifully and aesthetically pleasing to look at and perform. I never did get the Modern Renaissance (it is still on my palette wish list…cause that’s normal we all have one right) but when this one came out I knew it was right up my street. This is a great everyday palette, but you can do bolder looks and the shadows last all day. Big win!

colourpopshadows.png

Colourpop supershock shadows. I have been enjoying these a lot, I’m doing an experiment currently so haven’t been dabbling as of late but at the beginning of the month these were my shiz.  Every time I wear them, particularly the shade Kathleenlights I get compliments. They have minimal creasage and are beautiful specimens of what drugstore priced makeup can be. You can’t find anything (in my opinion) comparable in any other affordable brand.

softlgam-and-estee.png

Introducing Blune. I am so excited to introduce this fun challenge. If you aren’t (which how can you not know who she is) follow Estee Lalonde on her blog and YouTube you should!  She used to do Vlune back in the day on her vlog channel where she vlogged daily! I thought gee I should give myself a challenge to do that with blogging, hence the name Blune. I am only doing 27 days of content accounting for weekends and days I might be missing as well as not just posting content for the sake of content. I am so excited to do this and I think you will enjoy what I have planned!
