13 By Halloween: Update 1

Ah the 13 by Halloween project pan update. I am so excited to update everyone on my progress. I will say some products were really difficult to tell the progress since in the intro I forgot to take pictures showing the beginning of a few items (i.e the progress of my cream products and my lip products) but because I recently got a tripod I can actually start taking better progress pics which is super exciting.

I am so excited I finished two things in this project (and the crowd goes wild). I finished my Nudestix concealer, I thought I could get more uses but the last part of the concealer pushed into the wood so alas it is officially done. The second thing I finished was the Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5. I got this done pretty quickly because when I use these types of serums I used a full pipette every night to ensure maximum hydration. My Garnier moisturizer has shown quite a bit of progress. I don’t know how much I love this but it is nice to wear at night and smells really good (not that I should be loving scents in skincare but alas here we are) so once  I finish it I will give a full review.

FAB-tinted-moisturizer

My Lush feeling younger highlight has gone down quite a bit because I use it to mix into my First Aid Beauty Tinted moisturizer or my normal morning moisturizer which gives it a nice glow. I will say I’m not a fan of this product as a highlighter because I find it doesn’t really sink into the skin like other liquid highlighters. The Kathleenlights supershock eye shadow doesn’t seemingly have much progress, but I have been using this pretty much everyday that I’ve been wearing makeup but I think it really is the never ending product.  My Coverfx loose powder has also been rocking and rolling, I drew a line on it so you could really tell the progress and how much I’ve used.

My three cream products. Nudestix bondie bae hasn’t shown much progress because of the way I use it. I usually put my makeup sponge on top of the stick and then dab it on the all the bronzer areas so it doesn’t show much progress but trust, I use this daily. My Joe Fresh Tinted Lip balm has been in use everyday yet it doesn’t show much progress. I think it’s the never ending product really, hopefully I can make more of a dent in it my Halloween. Becca Champagne Pop, ya’ll I have definitely used it every. Single. Day, even if it’s just inner corn shimmer I used it every day. It is nicely packed so the progress doesn’t look as extensive.  My solid perfume by lush in Karma. I have used this quite often but not as often as I was hoping to but it is more of a fall scent so I’m hoping I’ll get more use of it in the coming two months

nudestix-tinted-blur-stick

The Revlon Youth Fx concealer was in the project because I knew I would finish the Nudestix concealer. I can’t really tell how much I’ve used but I am hoping that if I use this every day I can use it up by Halloween. . My Nudestix Tinted Blur stick is also going well, I haven’t used this a lot this month but I know I can use a lot of it up so I will be making more of an effort to use it. The Body Shop Lip and cheek tint feels a lot lighter then it did at the beginning of the project. Since it is a liquid product you can feel the weightiness of it change which is exciting.

What have you been trying to use up?

UK Makeup Haul

open-flat-layOh golly, you all know that when I went to Europe I had to hit up the quintessential UK based drug stores – Superdrug, boots, Kiko and of course oxford street Lush.  I didn’t get the chance to go into Selfridges (next time) but I wasn’t really going to buy any high end makeup anyway. Naturally I did a bit of shopping and tried a few items from each of these places. I realized I forgot to take a photo of the Natural Collection mascara but I also bought that. I also wanted to note some interesting differences in the makeup trends between London and Aberdeen. London I found it to be a lot more of a lighter base but I think this could be attributed to the fact that it was 40 degrees celsius so I too was wearing barely there makeup. In Aberdeen I noticed that makeup was a lot more full coverage. I thought it was so interesting because obviously both places had equally beautiful looks but I thought I would note that before hopping into the haul.

blushes

solar-bronze

Let’s start with the face products that I purchased. At Boots I got the Soap and Glory solar bronzer. It’s a beautiful sheeny bronzer with highlighter in it so it warms up the skin nicely while also giving that summer glow. As soon as I bought this I literally used it everyday on the trip. I really liked the idea of this bronzer because I saw ttsandra use it once and was always curious about it and finally found it in Boots. Second at Superdrug I bought the B. collection (Superdrug exclusive) lip and cheek tint. So this is something that I wanted to be a bit creamier. It’s a bit waxy in texture but I will still use it because it gives a beautiful glow to the skin you just really have to work quickly with it. Not for beginners. I also got another blush, mostly because of the packaging, from the Kiko store in Aberdeen. That store is beautiful I tell yah. This blush is from their gold rush collection and the shade is 02 coral because I love me a good coral blush. It’s a glowy blush which is my personal favourite formula of a blush.

lush-highlighter

I also bought a highlighter from the Lush oxford street store. It’s like a little brick of pretty glitter. To be quite honest, it’s not like a normal glossy highlight, this is all shimmer that packs a punch and doesn’t last all day. I also got a radiant face base from Kiko in hopes it would be similar to the Laura Mercier one I’ve previously swatched. Since I haven’t tried that one I guess I can’t compare. So far it’s nice, but nothing similar to what I was hoping.

barry-m-dazzle-dust

Kiko-radiance-face-boost

I also bought the Natural collection volume mascara in brown (which was an accident) and I haven’t opened it as I’m trying to use up my others first. I also got the classic Barry M dazzle dust which I tried once but it was a hot ass day so it kind of just creased and didn’t really play well with the primer I used. I am going to try this again for sure because it’s beautiful gold bronze shade.

concealers

The final two items were concealers. I put these two in a separate category then the face products because these are two hyped up concealers that I just had to try. The Collection lasting perfection concealer – I haven’t tried it yet so this is a literal haul and the Makeup Revolution concealer of which I got the last one in my shade and the others were sold out. I haven’t tried either yet but will report back when I do.

Have you tried anything new lately?

Blune Day 26: Things I liked and Did in June

How is it almost July? I just can’t believe how this summer has flown by! I wanted to pop up a little Things I liked and did in June. There aren’t many makeup products this month but there are just a lot of good happenings and good skincare bits.

Let’s start with the makeup: The Lush emotional brilliance powder. This is such a surprise to me. It has talc in it which can be drying but it’s sets my under eyes so well and doesn’t dry them out. Because it is so hot here, this has actually been the perfect setting powder and I find it doesn’t ever look cakey.

lush-powder

The only other makeup item is the Joe Fresh tinted Lip balm in the shade mango. I have been reaching for it quite often and keep it in my work bag. It’s a really beautiful formula and just glides right on. This is such a hidden gem of the Canadian drugstore and is from a cruelty free brand. Bonus! I try to shop all cruelty free but more on that in a future post I have planned. These also come in so many colours and smell like candy which is always a big plus in my books.

lush-celestial

The second item I have been loving is Lush celestial which I have never tried before. It is really moisturizing and non irritating thus far. That has been my age old problem is I will buy a moisturizer and it will immediately sort of burn my skin or create some sort of irritation. I would like to try some Korean skincare brands and of course the Drunk elephant lala retro cream, but for now I have been loving this lush formula.

tea-tree

The Body Shop tea tree oil. I replaced my Thursday Plantation one with this and I just love it. I know there are dermatologists out there and skincare brand founders that are against the use of essential oils but I find that this really zaps any problems I am having with pimples.

My degree! I am so excited to have finally attained the most expensive paper of my life. My graduation day was wonderful, I’m so glad to have finally complete my degree and learned so much about myself and the world along the way. It is such a good feeling to have finally attained the degree I always dreamed of getting, which sounds odd but women’s studies has taught me so many things that I cannot put into words in such a small paragraph. I also had the most wonderful day,  I saw all my friends, my parents, my aunt and soon I will be home to see my Buttons!

20180618_121503.jpg

Doing Blune! I made the decision to Blune around the end of May because I really wanted to challenge myself to make at least 27 pieces of content (so not everyday in June) but most days. I have been loving this, and been loving discovering other new blogs through this journey. I can’t wait to continue to blog more and more for the small community that takes the time to read my blog.

This was a short and sweet favourites because June has been such a busy month with Blune, with moving and packing. What did you love in June?

Blune Day 21: Getting re-inspired by my makeup collection

Makeup. It’s obviously something I love and will always love, but it is also an industry that more broadly has so many layers that I have been thinking about.  I have been thinking a lot about makeup and beauty in terms of consumption and the idea of the fast production of makeup products for fast consumption by consumers and the hype that surrounds makeup. This hype is the buy buy buy aspect and I find myself usually seeking inspiration in new products. I have been finding myself re-inspired by both old and new products that have found their way into my collection.

becca-champagne-pop

brushes-and-such

I recently found myself re-inspired with my makeup as I was packing it up to move. It is so funny the products you forget about and the products that you find yourself missing that you’ve used up. In fact it was a new product that inspired this post, the Joe Fresh Neutrals palette. I cannot believe how lovely and simple this palette is and how easy it is to use. I didn’t have high hopes, I just was in the market for a new neutral cruelty free affordable palette. It inspired me because of its simplicity and I have been really inspired by the wash of colour looks you see on the red carpet or that Estee Lalonde.

lush-perspecitve

This post was something that has been brewing because for awhile I was not as enamoured by makeup as I used to be which I think often stems from the fact that as bloggers (and I’m a super small blogger) we own a lot of stuff almost for the sake of owning it, which I why I have been loving project panning and I’m hoping to start another one in July after I return from my trip. I also have been forcing myself to be more creative with the products I already own. It sounds funny to someone who probably owns one foundation and one eyeshadow palette, but because I do l often found myself falling into the hype of products just to try them. I am not saying I haven’t been buying makeup because clearly I have, but it is just something I have become more aware of in these past few months then I have before.

Recently though I have been feeling more inspired by my own collection because I have had to pack so much of it I have just left out key pieces that I need on the daily until I move home so that is forcing me to use the same products everyday. Now I think a part my re falling in love with makeup is skincare. I have been on the hunt for great skincare and I am still working my routine out but thus far I think I found the perfect moisturizer to wear under all my SPF products which I think has also made my skin look better therefore I can wear the glass skin trend or my bold cheek looks.

This post was prompted by a gander I took to Sephora the other day with my friend and I repurchased an old favourite and something new, and previously in the week whilst getting an essential at the Body Shop I repurchased my tried and true honey bronzing dome in the highlight shade. It almost was like going back to basics and I’m so excited to have done so because it has made me fall in love with makeup as whole again. I was never out of love but I was in a real slump for awhile so to speak with my base products and my eyeshadow and I think I’ve finally found my groove again with eyeshadows. My makeup routine is kind of like my skincare routine, I am constantly evolving in my tastes but am always in pursuit of the perfect capsule makeup routine (which is ironic considering my collection which I adore of course) but I have yet to find those theannaedit style go to products and am excited to find them!

Blune Day 19: Empties the second

As a first point, I didn’t use all of these up this month, this has been accumulating since my last empties post. Most of these products were good, some not so great and others were just meh. I thought I would take you through a few items that I’ve used up and give a wee review on some of them.

The Marcelle Gentle Cream Cleanser, I am on the hunt for a basic face wash but this was too basic. I don’t know if it was the bulky packaging or the just okay texture, but it just wasn’t my favourite at all. It did the job but it wasn’t the best and I won’t be repurchasing. I also finished a Thayers Witch Hazel Lavender toner which I have already repurchased and LOVE and I finished the Rice Water Clarifying toner from The Body Shop which was beautiful and I would consider repurchasing as a clarifying toner for those days my skin needs a bit of extra help. I finished the rose water from Amazon that I used in my DIY toner water. Yet another Body shop favourite the camomile cleansing balm. I really like this alot, but I am lazy and want to have a makeup remover I can use in the shower and this isn’t one BUT it is amazing and doesn’t blur your eyes if you get it in them. I also finished two moisturizers including (yet another) Body Shop tea tree oil  night lotion and the Sukin hydrating Rosehip day cream, both of which were really nice. The Sukin one I found didn’t sit well under makeup but the Body Shop one is definitely something I want to repurchase I have the chance.

Body Shop CC cream, Pur Setting spray, The Body shop lash hero, Annabelle highlighter, FAB coconut primer,

Rose water, Marcelle Extra Gentle Cleanser, Rice milky cleanser toner, Camomile Cleansing balm, Thayers Lavender toner, Tea Tree night lotion, Sukin Rosehip day cream

Makeup. I have finished and am decluttering a few items. First I have a few glowy primers. One of the First Aid Beauty coconut skin primer which was great and I would repurchase but when I ran out of these ones I replaced them with the Physicians formula spotlight primer. The second glowy product was the Tarte Brighter days highlighting moisturizer, which I didn’t really find all the moisturizing but it was nice to have in my arsenal. The Body Shop CC cream in fair glow. This was alright, I think it went bad near the end so it was starting to irritate my skin but overall it was a nice glowy base and I would repurchase. The Annabelle strobing drops (no longer available), I don’t know if I actually ran out of these just strangely dried out but I can no longer get them out of the bottle so alas I’m calling it an empty. The body shop mascara, this was really nice, a bit flakey and again I just had to get rid of it because I have had it for way longer than 6 months. Currently I have a few mascaras I love but I would be interested in trying more. My favourite mascara for dramatic lashes is a Maybelline one (Meghan Markle’s fave in fact but it is great) so once I’m done that one I would love to try more Body Shop ones. I also finished the PUR setting spray which lasted me quite awhile and have since replaced it with the Joe Fresh one which is almost done and now I have a few of the new Body Shop ones that I’m liking so far but will report back when I’ve used them more.

Schmidt's Deodorant, Tom's, SweetSpot cleanser, Lush Dream cream

Body care. I have a few items including my favourite and staple Sweetspot Labs body wash. This is a PH feminine hygiene product and is honestly the best thing I’ve ever done for my feminine areas. I get the unscented version and I love it. I have already re-purchased this. I also finished two Schmidt’s deodorants. I really like the Tea Tree Sensitive Skin one because it didn’t irritate the old pits, but the charcoal and magnesium one I found a bit irritating. The mini of the Lush Dream Cream, this remains to be my favourite hand cream and body lotion, its light and airy and soaks in immediately. Last but not least the Toms mouthwash, it’s pretty good but I like the Jason one better because it actually purifies my mouth where as this one just felt like flavoured water.

Have you used up any products lately?

Blune Day 14: lip formulas I enjoy

Ah yes, as you might know my one of my favourite makeup items are lipsticks. I don’t know about you, but I am always searching for the perfect nude, the perfect berry, the perfect red in colour and formula. I have found that my favourite types of lipsticks are the barely there formulas that pack a punch in pigmentation.

This is not surprise to many of you, but I love all the Burts Bees formulas and cannot wait to get my hands on their new liquid lipsticks. I like the glossy lip formula, their lip balm, the regular semi matte lip formula, the shimmer lip balms. My favourite two are the glossy lip pencil and the glossy lipsticks. I wear these on the daily. In my purse I always carry at least one or the lip balm depending on the day. They play well with lip liners and lip glosses. The best part is the clean ingredients and the pigmentation of all the colours. I haven’t found a shade I don’t like! As well if you are a minimal makeup wearer I think these would look beautiful with just them on the lips then some mascara.

Burts Bees glossy lipstick and

Joe Fresh Matte Cushion Lipstick

The other lip formulas I love are from Joe Fresh. Their lip balms are so lovely. They are glossy and not to thick and come in a variety of colours. The packaging feels weighty and you don’t need a mirror for these which is a plus in my books. The other lip formula that I have spoken about before is are the matte cushion lipsticks that are beautiful. They feel sticky when they go on, but immediately dry to a nice comfortable matte formula which is hard to find.

Nudestix cream lip and cheek pencils. I have the shade Sin, a cool toned rose.  I want some more Nudestix lip products because they are just so good. Literally every thing from the brand is great. I only have one lip and cheek pencil in the shade saint (it also looks beautiful on the cheeks). The formula is a bit thicker but dries down to a nice cream stain on the lips that I an a personal fave of (if you haven’t been able to tell already).

Colourpop Blotted lipstick

Lush Lipstick in perspecitve

The Colourpop blotted lipsticks. These are the most beautifully lightweight matte lipsticks. They have almost a powdery finish but I like them because they don’t dry out my lips and look beautiful built up or just as a stain.

The Lush lipsticks. The Lush liquid lipsticks are so good. They are unfortunately discontinued but I really like these. The finish is beautiful, I like them rubbed into a lip balm or built up to a their full pigmentation.

all-open.png

Last but not least, the Pixi tinted lip balms. I love these and have talked about them before. These are the best tinted lip balm in my humble opinion. I think that they have the best finish to them. They last a long time, last through eating and never make my lips feel dry.

What are your favourite lipsticks?

Blune Day 6: Using Clean makeup for two weeks

First of all a before I get into my fun experiment, a definition for clean makeup: it is makeup with no toxic ingredients like parabens, talc. The ingredients must be sustainably sourced, ethically sourced, and non toxic to human health and the environment. Think brands like RMS, Jane Iredale, Bite Beauty, Burts Bees! As a result of this understanding and in the name of science I wanted to do an experiment and only use my cleanest products ingredients wise for two weeks to see what would happen.

Week one was really good. Of course, this was after I arrived from being home so my skin was having a bit of trouble due to food I ate at home and spring allergy season. One thing I did notice was no face itching which I do find does occur when I have conventional makeup on.  My skin feels great – naturally because I treated my spots they have almost disappeared but I don’t find the makeup to be irritating my skin. However, the Andalou naturals tinted moisturizer – while great, can be a bit itchy on my cheek area. This could be a variety of things and might just be my general allergies so I won’t quite attribute it to this to.

eyeshadow-and-blush

My skin was (and is still) rather clear and I have no new blemishes, other than ones from eating too much wheat. I am a bit bored. I found myself wanting to use my Too Faced sweet peach or my Colourpop Super Shock shadows and my Colourpop highlighter. I  guess this might be why my collection is a bit larger than your average. I think that in this week I really did notice my skin becoming more clear, no new texture or visible blemishes appeared. I also kept my skincare the same, so that didn’t have any effect on my clean makeup

You may notice I don’t have a bronzer because I don’t have any clean ones and didn’t overly want to buy one for this experiment. I  used my Annabelle matte one and my Anastasia Beverly Hills one which are both cruelty free and paraben free.

base-prods-more

base-products

The base products I used were Physicians Formula B.B. cream, the Andalous Naturals C.C cream and the Burt’s bees B.B. cream. I also used the Lush feeling younger skin tint, which arguably isn’t clean at all because it contains parabens but then again, I have read conflicting things on the paraben front. It was also my only other mostly clean option for a highlighter that I could find in my collection and I like to switch it up on the highlighter front. I used the Burts Bees bare peach blush, which is a favourite of course who doesn’t love a good peach blush. I also used the 100% Pure Naked 2 palette and the Burts Bees trio in countryside lavender. I really like this palette. It’s a really sheer palette, but the highlight and blush pack a punch and you can build up the eyeshadows to a more a full intensity.

mascara

lip-products

Ah the mascaras. I love the Burt’s Bees mascara and will be repurchasing once it reaches the end of its life. It is great for every day and doesn’t smudge on me (which literally every other mascara I have tried does). I threw in my two other Physicians Formula ones but again, these are drying up so I mainly just used my Burts Bees. For lips, I mostly just switched between what I already use, Burts Bees (surprise), Lush (discontinued), 100% Pure, and Bite Beauty.

I think what I can tell you, is I realize how much of a consumer I am when only rotating between a few products. What I mean by this is I get bored so easily and want to use other things in my collection (which is by no means a bad thing as that means I am using all my products) and then I realize that I have been sucked into the “get more” mentality instead of appreciating the products I have. Which has made me appreciate the things I rarely reached for because I wasn’t forced to use them. I found keeping everything that was clean(ish) in my collection in one bag was beneficial and by the end of this two weeks I found myself enjoying them more and more.  I also realized the incredible privilege it is to be able to use clean makeup. There are no foundation, BB Cream shades above light in any of the base products I discussed. I used all affordable options and none of them are suited to anyone who has a darker skin tone. This will be discussed in a later post, but part of the reason I get conflicted on which brands to support is the shade range. Hence, my reasoning behind buying some Maybelline and L’Oreal products because they have a large range of shades that cater to all skin tones. Anyway, let’s not get off topic, this a whole conversation for another post.

All in all my two weeks of clean(ish) makeup was really good. I will my skin was improved after these two weeks, but no so much that I will stop using conventional makeup because I love makeup and experimenting with new things! While I enjoyed all the products I have to say, I am so excited to use my other products again.

Do you have any clean beauty favourites?

Things I liked and Did in April

First how is May already? I can’t believe it. I don’t have all my grades back yet but alas I am done my undergrad! Of course, throughout April I may (see what I did there) have found some gems that I wanted to share in things I liked and did. I really didn’t do anything so these are some of the products I was loving!

One of my 2018 goals was to find a great skincare regime and I think I have just found my favourite toner of life. The Thayers lavender toner is AMAZING. I use it every morning on a cotton pad (reusable of course) and press it into my skin. It smells wonderful and my skin loves it. Plus it’s more mid range so it’s on the affordable side and you can find it in a range of places, including Marshalls or Winners, Nutrition house and well.ca.

Something not so affordable I have been loving is is the new highlighter I bought during the sale. This is the NARS Forte De France highlighter. Excuse me while I pretend I’m the Anna Edit and wear this with my Topshop jeans and polka dot button down, basically twins. It’s beautiful! It’s very glossy and shiny and I can’t get enough it! The powder itself feels very lux and it lasts all day. It does slightly emphasize texture but to be quite honest so do all my other highlighters.

makeup-bag-photo

This was a bit of a surprise for me, the Body Shop Fresh Nude foundation. I am on the hunt for a good foundation that I can wear when I’m feeling foundation for the day. It is hard to find one that is cleanish ingredient wise  and that is affordable (which surprise surprise this one has some pesky ingredients that I’m not too keen on but I don’t wear it everyday so alas the hunt will continue once I use up this one). But it does have a beautiful satin finish and doesn’t require setting which I love and its great for the summer. It’s a great shade match and thus far I’m liking it!

Can I be anymore more repetitive but the Vinoperfect Glycolic Brightening Essence by Caudalie Again, a purchase from the Sephora sale. I’ll be damned but this has changed my skin. I wouldn’t say I have “bad” or “blemished” skin but I do have a bit of texture on my cheeks and t zone and find my skin feeling congested and this really brightens and clears my skin! The thing I don’t like: why is it expensive? The thing I like: the brand story, the smell, the clean ingredients and the entire brand philosophy.

A fashion fave, the Topshop raw hem jeans. By golly, I want to get a few more pairs of the Jamie jeans eventually because all Topshop jeans I have are extremely flattering and it just feels good to wear flattering jeans! They are pricey but I think they are great quality. I feel myself graduating from

The Lush Karma solid perfume. I love this scent so much, it smells exactly like a lush store. It has a fresh but warm smell, but is still a summer scent that I can get down with. I never buy scents and this is expensive in the spray form. I got the solid but by golly once I’m out of this I may just buy the full size!

Product empties

I have seen these on YouTube and perhaps they are better suited to that platform BUT I have accumulated so many products that I have used up over the past I would 6-8 months. These items range from body care, skincare, and makeup (yay!). I thought I would take you through a few items and give a mini review.
Skincare items: the Ordinary squalane, Physicians Formula glow booster oil, Burt’s Bees radiance cleanser, Sukin exfoliator, Avalon organics exfoliator and a point perk Fresh Black Tea face mask and a Lush fresh jelly face mask. Okay, most of these items were good, but not mind blowing, just average products. A standout was the Physicians Formula Glow Booster facial oil. This is one I plan on repurchasing because it is beautiful. It is a blend of oils and actually (in my opinion) does boost the brightness of you skin and its an oil serum which is good to add to your routine. The Ordinary Squalane oil was alright, I have another one my mom recently gifted me but its not bad, it does boost hydration but I think I’d repurchase the oil serum before this. The other products, including the exfoliators were great but not things I would readily repurchase again because I love trying new things.

Schmidt's deodorant, Physici

Avalon organics lavendar scrub, The Body Shop Bronzing dome, Sephora Dry clean brush cleaner

Body care: There are more things in this category than I originally thought I had. The Schmidt’s deodorant in bergamot and lime which is a great scent and works well. Okay, I am on a journey friends, A JOURNEY, to find a great natural deodorant. This was good but I prefer the sensitive formula as mentioned in my March things I liked and did. I also threw in my Tom’s whole care toothpaste. I like this one a lot more than their sensitive teeth one. This one was a good and I really like the flavour and it actually works. It does have fluoride which I’m fine with! I have already purchased this one and also got the Jason Powersmile toothpaste (thanks Morerebe). The Cake Beauty body lotion was delectable (as the name might suggest) and its smells like a tropical vacation. I will definitely purchase this again.

Cake Beauty, Fresh beauty, Sukin Pur concealer, nudestix mascara, Toms toothpaste

Makeup: This is the most exciting category. There are only four things. I know not super exciting for the normal person who only has a few makeup products but for me this is so exciting. I finally finished my project pan concealer the Pur disappearing act concealer and its finally done! I really liked this but I don’t think I will repurchase because I am still on the hunt for the perfect concealer. I also already have two in my collection to use up so I have to get those bad boys out my collection before I purchase anymore.

My body shop honey bronzing dome in champagne. This took me roughly two years to finish. TWO YEARS. Which is terrifying because I also own a million more powder highlighters and cream highlighters so I can only imagine how long those will take to use up. I also finished my Becca shimmering skin perfector in the travel size that I got during the VIB sale in April last year so it’s about a year old. I finished this a while ago probably in February but it wasn’t great honestly. It’s not a bad product at all, its gives  a nice glow to the skin but it made my face quite itchy so I finished it for the sake of finishing it and won’t be repurchasing simply because of my skin’s reaction. The Nudestix mascara was the last product I finished in the past months. It was a really beautiful mascara – I loved it. It was the perfect day to day mascara and I would repurchase if I didn’t have so many mascaras to get through. A random but the Sephora dry brush cleanser is AMAZING. It’s the hidden gem of Sephora, it cleans your brushes instantly and is convenient to have on hand. Highly recommend.

What have you used up lately?

My Favourite Nude Lipsticks

I do love bold lipsticks, but I also LOVE nude lipsticks. In fact I think I own far too many for one human. I thought I would give a shout out to my favourite nude lippies, all cruelty free!

100% Pure lip caramel in truffle. Yes, I know you are likely sick of hearing about this bad boy. BUT it’s beautiful. It’s a darker rose toned nude but still perfect for everyday. I like rubbing it into a lip balm for a stained effect.

Burt’s Bees lipstick in suede splash. This is a beige nude with a drop of pink in it. I love this lip colour and formula. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The first shade I bought was nile nude and I wasn’t overly enthralled since it was SO nude. But I got this shade after seeing the Anna Edit talk about it on her channel I bought it and I haven’t looked back.

Lush lipstick in perspective. Another youtube made me buy it, crueltyfreebecky recommended this is in one of her dupes videos. It is the PERFECT nude. As soon as I put it on, I know I can take on the day with a rose toned hues and a lipstick that is healthy and clean.

Milani nude creme. This is one of the first lipsticks I purchased for myself when I got into makeup in summer 2016. This is a really great nude. It’s not too brown and not too pink, it’s a great mix of both and I really enjoy that. It works every time and smells really good.

NYX Soft Matte Lip cream in Stockholm. These are 100% lippies I bought because I heard a ton about them on Youtube. BUT they remain the only liquid lipstick I actually like. They are matte, but they aren’t dry and crackly like other liquid lipsticks.

Tarte quench lip rescue in buff. This is a new one to my collection but its just so easy to use on the daily, is moisturizing and you don’t need a mirror. I like to take this one to school and use it on the go because it’s basically a glossy, peachy nude shade.

What is your go to nude lipstick?
