What My Travel Makeup Bag Should Have Been

Okay, so here’s the thing. I like makeup (clearly) and I tend to slightly over pack when I’m going literally anywhere. This occurred when I went to the UK with my dad and I may have brought a bit too much makeup. What I didn’t consider, was that there would be one bathroom, so basically I was always getting ready second and because I was on vacation I didn’t  want to take a long time getting ready because I wanted to be out exploring.

So my original makeup bag was very…maximal if you will and I’m here to tell you I used none of it. So what did I use you may be asking? I wore the First Aid Beauty tinted moisturizer every single day. I found this to be the right amount of dew and the right amount of tint for the hot weather. I also used a concealer, the Revlon one pretty much and didn’t really set anything unless I really needed to which I used my Hourglass palette for.

When I bought the Soap and Glory wonderbronze bronzer on our first day we were exploring Oxford street I used it every day because it gave a wonderful glow to my already existing tan. As for a highlight I did alternate between two, my Colourpop and Becca champagne pop. As for blush I didn’t tend to use any accept the two from my Hourglass ambient lighting palette. For lips, I wore the Joe Fresh Mango lip balm.

It was also hotter than I was anticipating so I found that these products actually worked quite well in the heat. I used my Body Shop Matte setting spray which actually really held everything together, but I’m not sure how much I actually enjoy this because it does kind of irritate my skin upon application.

I am so guilty of over packing makeup now a days, I just like having so many options but in reality when your on vacation it’s likely you won’t be wearing much makeup! I think my thing was that I was gonna be super stylish like all the London gals but alas it was just too hot to wear a lot of makeup!

What category or item do you always over pack?

Blune Day 22: Travel makeup bag

Travel makeup is possibly one of my favourite things in the world. I am however a beauty lover and blogger so I’m not going to lie I’m a bit extra and bring a few extra things then the average girl probably brings. I am going to the UK in a few weeks and am really excited to see London and Aberdeen for the first time.

Cheek products are something that I have such an affinity to. I am bring a few things, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette which is just a beautiful palette. It’s buildable and I took it with me last time I went to Europe and it felt right. I also am bringing three highlighters…I know its a lot…but girls gotta have options. I am bringing my new love Becca Champagne pop, I am so excited to have this because it’s beautiful and wears so beautifully throughout the day. I am also bringing the Honey Bronzing Dome in the highlight shade which I love and is a great cream product to have. I am also bringing Colourpop lunch money because it is in my year long project pan and if I was a normal person I would just bring this but alas I’m not. I am making good progress on this so I’m excited to get more use. I am only bringing one matte bronzer, the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer I am rediscovering this and I like it because it’s not too dark and is super easy to use.

For eyeshadow, even though I religiously only wear one eyeshadow on the daily I am bringing two palettes (did I mention I know its slightly extra but alas). I am bringing the soft glam because possibly I might want to glam it up. I also am bringing the Joe Fresh Neutrals palette because well, we all know its my new love and it’s really easy to use.

For the base I’m bringing the First Aid Beauty Tinted Moisturizer because I really like it so far and it makes your skin look really fresh. I am also bringing my Nudestix concealer (it’s almost done woo) and the NYX dark circle corrector that is also almost done. For a powder I’m not going to mess with a translucent powder so I’m taking the Burts Bees Pressed Powder.

I am bringing a few lippies and I feel like this could change but I am partial to a nice pink lip because that’s my game. I am bringing my trustee Burt’s Bees lipstick glossy lip crayon in santorini sunrise and my Joe Fresh Cushion matte lipstick, the Elf gotta glow lip tint and the 100% Pure lip caramel in truffle. I also might throw in the soft matte lip cream from NYX in Stockholm because its the UK which I feel warrants a caramel nude. Yes that was very listy, and I know its a lot of products but I want to have options. I feel like people in England are fashionable and I want to fit in slightly.
