That time of the month again… a monthly empties, I am sad to say that I did not finish as much up this month as I would have liked, but at least I got through a few things.
Let’s start with the empties and some more thorough reviews first, then move to declutters.
First empty of the month was the soou peach cream that I got at winners. This was roughly from memory 12.99 and it was fine. It wasn’t the best moisturizer I have ever used, but it had its place in my routine. I also finished two cleansers, the Innisfree cleansing oil ($9.99) and the Innisfree cherry bomb cleanser (current price $18.00). I also finished four mascaras that’s I’ve either had for a long time or just are bad now – Marcelle extension curl Mascara, the Clinique high impact mascara, Milk rise and lift mascara, and the Rimmel Wonderluxe mascara. I’ve replaced all of these with two mascara – the Huda Beauty One Coat wow mascara and a free sample of the Caliray come hell or high water pop volumnizing and lengthening mascara which was a point perk.
Since my empties were so lackluster, I am going to make a goal to finish a few more products in March. First I have two sunscreens expiring that are almost done, the glow recipe watermelon and the laneige mineral sunscreen. I also am on the last leg of my tower 28 moisture barrier cream, and a Dr Nedmn gel cream. My Body Shop vitamin C should be done this month as well so I can finally move on to my No7 vitamin c serum. I also want to finish my ilia cleanser, I think it is almost done but it is in such opaque packaging who knows when this will be finished.
As for makeup, I’d really like to see the Makeup by Mario surreal skin enhancer gone, as well as my Maybelline 4 in 1 perfector, and my Maybelline age rewind concealer. I also have had my Laniege glowy serum primer for like two years … so I really want to get that product used up.
Now the whole point of this project is to a: pay off credit card debt and b: actually mindfully use up product so I’ve set a goal to declutter at least two to three items per month. I have two items in mind that I am decluttering, one of which I’m terribly sad to see go. The auric temper eyeshadow just has no pigment anymore, and because I have so many others that I need to use in it’s place, that one can go. It is also at least as old as the band which I think is like 4? The other product is also sort of sad, but one that I can easily repurchase if I ever run out of cream bronzers (unlikely) is the Physicians Formula bronzer stick. This doesn’t have the same glide and blendability it did when I first bought it, and has a very strong scent of play-do so it has to go. The other one that I will be decluttering is Nudestix bright eyes shadow stick. This came with the Hilary Duff x Nudestix collab and frankly, it’s so old and I don’t use it so it can go. I also lost my nudestix sharpener so it seems like a good excuse to get it out of my collection … plus the brand ethics are extremely questionable and not palestine friendly.
