Colourpop haul and review

It was a cold morning of me drinking coffee and gandering the colourpop website and alas, I made a wee bit of an order. This was about a month and a half ago, and I’m realizing this is two hauls in a row (oops) but this is more of a review then a haul! Let me start by saying, I enjoy most colourpop products except their liquid lipsticks. I love their supershock eyeshadows, they are a unique formula that you can’t find in any other brand. I decided to order a few of those and some lippies!

second-option-flatlay

I got four supershock eyeshadows, and one liquid shadow. Ugh. I LOVE the formula of supershock shadows – they are absolutely amazing. I got the shades cornelious, twitterpated, truth, cosmic charge and a supernova shadow in running in orbits. These are so easy to use in the morning when you are in a rush and need to get a easy wash of colour (my all time favourite look). I like that they feel bouncy and usually don’t crease on me unless I’m extremely sweaty, but even then I find that they last the entire work day in the summer which is a bonus.

The lip glosses. I really wanted to love these, I do like the shades! Particularly “fairy me”. I will wear them and get use out of them, but honestly these aren’t anything super special! I would say, they have a lot of colour options which is great and the biggest selling point of them in my opinion. However, the formula is nothing too exciting but if you don’t have any lip glosses or just want more colours than these are for you! I also didn’t find them super sticky or gloppy which is a bonus but they aren’t my new favourites if you get what I mean.

blotted-lip-sticks.png

The blotted lips. Are fricken amazing. I can’t stop loving them. They are very matte and slightly powdery feeling on the lips but they are stunning shades and super easy to wear. I got the shade “on a stick” which is a beautiful coral shade, my favourite the spring summer season (really any season) and the shade “bees knees” which is a beautiful fuschia magenta shade perfect pop to really any look you want.  You don’t need a mirror and can reapply throughout the day without worrying about getting it everywhere. I like to put on a lip balm then put these over top and the impact of these is beautiful. They are a sheer formula that can be built up as if you have actually blotted your lips on a tissue. I would definitely buy more of these!

Sephora Sale: the haul

“Makeup is fun, and also sad, when your entire paycheque goes straight to Sephora”, a lovely quote from vintage ladylike circa 2016. I’m sorry bank account, but I’ve participated in the Sephora VIB sale and have made so fun purchases and thought I would share them with you! I will also update all of you folks once I’ve used these products for a few weeks!

The makeup items: the Anastasia Beverly Hill soft glam palette and the NARS Fort De France highlighter, and a beauty tool,  Fenty blending sponge since my sponges were nasty!

Okay so the NARS highlighter...honestly I got it because I was watching the Anna Edit and she loved it and I obviously want to be her so alas I bought it. It’s a very tightly packed highlighter and is a soft powder when you touch it, the packaging is heavy and luxurious! I don’t have any higher end of the high end brands of highlighters except my Anastasia glow kit I got for my birthday last year and the balm highlighter which arguably is the price of some drugstore highlighters. I feel like a real adult with my NARS highlighter.

The soft glam palette. My word this is a breathtaking palette! I don’t own any Anastasia eyeshadow palettes and lots of the shades in this palette are shades I have been eyeing in the singles. It felt meant to be if I say so myself. My favourite eye look is a wash of colour with literally any shadow and a inner corner highlight and wala a good look for the day!

Anastasia soft glam, NARS Fort De France

Fenty Blending Sponge

Skincare. I have been on such a skincare kick lately and finding my perfect routine! I think I’ve found the perfect toner, still searching for the perfect cleanser and have found my way back to my tea tree exfoliator from the Body Shop. But that’s a post for another day. People, hold your breath (this is mostly for my mother when she reads this) I got the Caudalie vinoperfect brightening essence concentrate. Mother of pearl, this is soooooooo luxurious. I have never really considered Caudalie but as I am foraying into trying to give my skin good ingredients I found myself at the stand in Sephora! This is also a French beauty brand which I find myself (and the rest of the blog world for that matter, a bit obsessed with. I saw the word brightening and I said to myself “well I’m sold”.

Drunk Elephant and Caudalie

Now for the “big guns”, by this I mean minis of the marula facial oil and TLC Framboos glycolic night serum that is so raved about on the interwebs. I really wanted to try some drunk elephant products, but I am not going to lie this jazz is expensive and I just couldn’t commit to buying a bigger size because that is a lot of moola. Will report back when I have a used this for a month or so!

Did you get anything at the sale?! If so tell me below!

Product empties

I have seen these on YouTube and perhaps they are better suited to that platform BUT I have accumulated so many products that I have used up over the past I would 6-8 months. These items range from body care, skincare, and makeup (yay!). I thought I would take you through a few items and give a mini review.
Skincare items: the Ordinary squalane, Physicians Formula glow booster oil, Burt’s Bees radiance cleanser, Sukin exfoliator, Avalon organics exfoliator and a point perk Fresh Black Tea face mask and a Lush fresh jelly face mask. Okay, most of these items were good, but not mind blowing, just average products. A standout was the Physicians Formula Glow Booster facial oil. This is one I plan on repurchasing because it is beautiful. It is a blend of oils and actually (in my opinion) does boost the brightness of you skin and its an oil serum which is good to add to your routine. The Ordinary Squalane oil was alright, I have another one my mom recently gifted me but its not bad, it does boost hydration but I think I’d repurchase the oil serum before this. The other products, including the exfoliators were great but not things I would readily repurchase again because I love trying new things.

Schmidt's deodorant, Physici

Avalon organics lavendar scrub, The Body Shop Bronzing dome, Sephora Dry clean brush cleaner

Body care: There are more things in this category than I originally thought I had. The Schmidt’s deodorant in bergamot and lime which is a great scent and works well. Okay, I am on a journey friends, A JOURNEY, to find a great natural deodorant. This was good but I prefer the sensitive formula as mentioned in my March things I liked and did. I also threw in my Tom’s whole care toothpaste. I like this one a lot more than their sensitive teeth one. This one was a good and I really like the flavour and it actually works. It does have fluoride which I’m fine with! I have already purchased this one and also got the Jason Powersmile toothpaste (thanks Morerebe). The Cake Beauty body lotion was delectable (as the name might suggest) and its smells like a tropical vacation. I will definitely purchase this again.

Cake Beauty, Fresh beauty, Sukin Pur concealer, nudestix mascara, Toms toothpaste

Makeup: This is the most exciting category. There are only four things. I know not super exciting for the normal person who only has a few makeup products but for me this is so exciting. I finally finished my project pan concealer the Pur disappearing act concealer and its finally done! I really liked this but I don’t think I will repurchase because I am still on the hunt for the perfect concealer. I also already have two in my collection to use up so I have to get those bad boys out my collection before I purchase anymore.

My body shop honey bronzing dome in champagne. This took me roughly two years to finish. TWO YEARS. Which is terrifying because I also own a million more powder highlighters and cream highlighters so I can only imagine how long those will take to use up. I also finished my Becca shimmering skin perfector in the travel size that I got during the VIB sale in April last year so it’s about a year old. I finished this a while ago probably in February but it wasn’t great honestly. It’s not a bad product at all, its gives  a nice glow to the skin but it made my face quite itchy so I finished it for the sake of finishing it and won’t be repurchasing simply because of my skin’s reaction. The Nudestix mascara was the last product I finished in the past months. It was a really beautiful mascara – I loved it. It was the perfect day to day mascara and I would repurchase if I didn’t have so many mascaras to get through. A random but the Sephora dry brush cleanser is AMAZING. It’s the hidden gem of Sephora, it cleans your brushes instantly and is convenient to have on hand. Highly recommend.

Things I liked and did in March

How did this happen? How is March over? How is it almost exams and then summer and then who knows what after that? Well, despite March being a busy month, I did like and do (okay so I didn’t actually do anything this month because I’m boring, but we had some cool events this month so that was fun). Alas, I almost forgot to do this post but I couldn’t leave ya’ll hanging.

My first thing that i liked this month was castile soap. This isn’t a new favourite but I love the green beaver lavender castile soap. It works for everything: I wash dishes with it, I put about ½ cup of the soap and the rest distilled water (so water I boiled earlier that day and mix it together). Because the soap is so concentrated that’s why i do this. I LOVE THIS. It has so many uses, I clean dishes with it, I clean the tub with it, I clean the counters with it, when I actually wash the floors I wash the floors with it. I love it because it’s natural and doesn’t irritate my lungs or nose.

Green beaver castile soap lavender

The second thing I have been loving this month is the Schmidt’s tea tree sensitive skin deodorant. I have been searching for a deodorant that doesn’t irritate my pits, a natural one that works, and a natural one that can stand a workout. This one fits the bill. Yes, I sweat more but as humans we are supposed to. Ps would you like to read a post about my switch to natural deodorant?

schmidt's tea tree deodorant

The Ordinary serum foundation. Omg. this. Foundation. Ya’ll it’s so good. It doesn’t make my face itchy, it has barely there coverage but coverage enough to even the skin tone. It comes in a billion shades which is a plus and it’s under $10. Honestly, this is the best foundation I have ever used.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer and this random brush I got from winners. I was watching my favourite beauty Youtuber Melissa Alatorre and she does her highlight with a fluffy tapered brush over the pocket of her brow bone and cheek bone before eyeshadow and frequently will do highlight before anything else. In the video I linked she did it before her eye shadow and it was a beautiful effect. I just love the way it diffuses into the skin and ALSO I’m so close to hitting pan I can see the rings ever so faintly, hence my excitement over this new found discovery of wearing highlight.

Burts Bees foundation powder, The Balm Mary Lou Manizer, The ordinary foundation

The Burts Bees foundation powder. THIS IS THE FIRST POWDER I’VE EVER DISCOVERED THAT DOESN’T MAKE ME LOOK CAKEY. Sorry, I’m not yelling at you but by golly I just can’t believe how great this is. I am doing a more thorough review on my upcoming Burt’s Bees review post, but just know its great.

DSCF0452@0,25x

The Cake Beauty wave spray. One, this smells like cake. So really you can’t go wrong. Two, it’s perfect for short hair and it’s even better when you use it on slightly wet hair before going to bed as it creates a nice textured look.

Underrated Drugstore products

Essence prismatic highlighter: I bought this on a whim in good old shoppers drug mart. What a great place, it takes all your money. I bought this because I thought this might be a dupe for the Nudestix illuminaughty highlighter, but alas its not. BUT I really like this, I wear it almost daily mixed with other highlighters (the ones in my project pan). It has a blue/pink duochrome shift, and isn’t sticky at all.

essence prismatic highlighter

Essence matte bronzer: I bought this bronzer last summer because my Physicians Formula butter bronzer was too light to give me any of that sun kissed warmth I was seeking. It smells exactly like the butter bronzer and while a bit more warm, it’s not so ridiculous that you like you have had a bad tanning experience. It’s also extremely affordable.

Essence bronzer and Milani earthy elements

Milani eyeshadow palettes: I have the Milani earthy elements palette, its BEAUTIFUL. If you are looking for a cruelty free palette, at a drugstore price that actually has good matte shades, these palettes are for you. Now, I only can attest to the earthy elements one but it’s BEAUTIFUL. Now, because of my embarrassing amount of palettes I don’t use this as often now a days, but the shades are unique (trust me they don’t dupe the naked heat palette but they give a similar effect), are easy to blend and last all day! They are also pigmented even if you don’t use a primer which is a bonus.

Elf studio blushes

Elf studio blushes: I was raiding my collection and was thinking: what blush do I have that isn’t talked about at length in the beauty community. I came across my Elf Studio Blushes. These are so underrated, they are pigmented but no so pigmented that you are startled when you slap it on to your cheeks. They come in several different shades and again, like most things in this post, is affordable.

Wet n wild oaks on you cream “contour stick”: I first saw this on Youtube but it wasn’t very well liked. It wasn’t hyped at all, I only saw on YouTuber use it and it looked amazing. Of course I bought it cause I was curious. If you are not wanting to spend the money on Nudestix Bondi Bae or the Milk Makeup bronzer stick I’d say this one has you covered. I like to apply it buy swirling a flat kabuki brush and then swirling it on all the bronzer places.

Pixi Tinted lip balm

Pixi tinted lip balms: I really like these lip balms. I find they actually moisturize my lips, they smell good and are all beautifully pigmented, but not too pigmented which is what I like in a tinted lip balm (hence the name). These come in a few shades and every time I wear them I get a compliment on my lip colour.

Favourite Workout Leggings

Once you go lulu you never go back. Yes. I know. They are extremely expensive, like too expensive. But, they without a doubt, always fit. ALWAYS. Yes my size varies, but anytime I need a pant, lulu always comes through. I have been thinking, what are the best leggings for running? The gym? Etc. But not all leggings are made equal

So for running, I have a very specific criteria: can’t fall down, must feel comfortable and not constricting on my legs, should have a drawstring. This will be a future post because my expectations for running clothes are a lot different then for gymwear.

For working out/HIIT/lifting/personal training: My only criteria is comfort and breathability. More specifically, I also like a pant that doesn’t fall down while I’m working out.

Brand wise: I like Lululemon, Gymshark, and Adidas. Ah such a wide range. My personal problem with a lot of brands is they just don’t flatter my body. I find that Lululemon really knows how to make a legging that has a nice wide waistband and flattering on the behind. I honestly, have religiously worn Lululemon pants for everything. These leggings are ranked by favourite fit.

Lululemon aligns (for typical gym wear, a quick spin session, some weights). They are buttery soft, flattering and of course highly overpriced. But, I really like these for general gym wear. YES I would say if you are sweating a lot these will show sweat, but not to the point that I feel uncomfortable which I think is great.

Gymshark seamless, lululemon aligns, lululemon fast and free

Lululemon crops, the fast and free and the pacer crop. Both of them are amazing and feel like you are wearing nothing. They also don’t fall down at all, they are good for ALL types of exercise and running, which is a bonus. I mean shouldn’t they be good at everything considering the price? I think yes.

The Gymshark fit and seamless legging. So I was very skeptical about purchasing Gymshark. Mainly because there is no physical store and its USD prices but I was convinced that I should try some stuff. AND THAT I DID. The seamless collection is my personal favourite, I have the blue and “black”. The blue is great, squat proof and sweat proof. I also enjoy the fit legging. While not as popular as the flex and seamless, I really like them.  I have heard a lot of people say they aren’t squat proof, but I have the black with the lilac waistband and they fit perfectly don’t budge during my intense HIIT workouts, and aren’t sheer, I give them an A+. I also recently got the ombré seamless: these also hide sweat. I’m very impressed.

Purple Gymshark leggingsMy adidas mid rise climalite leggings. They feel similar to the align pant just slightly thicker, ever so slightly. Link is similar but not the exact pair I have.

Project Pan Roulette

Recently I discovered a AMAZING YouTube channel called Rebecca Morgan and her blog morerebe and Alexandra Sjosten (she is so cool). Please check out their channels and blogs! They are both great! They have a series called “project pan roulette” and since this was my first time hearing about it, I thought gee that would be a cool thing to join in on! So I messaged Rebecca and she was so kind and authentic and said of course! She kindly sent me the categories and I put them into random.com like they did and voila got my project items! The project lasts four months so this will be ending on July 9th!  I have really loved discovering YouTube channels about shopping your stash and project pans and am so happy they let me join on this project!

So my goals: hit pan on two items and use each of them so that they have visible progress.

Annabelle Lip GlossCategory 1: A product you don’t like. For this I chose the physicians formula sportswear mascara. I bought this because I was looking for a mascara, with good ingredients and that was more waterproof than my beloved organic Mascara from them. But this wand IS REALLY SWORD, every time I use it it’s like a super poke but I’m determined to try and use it!

Category 2: A product you received as a gift. For this one I chose the balm mary luminizer. She’s beauty and she’s grace, she is the balm Mary luminizer. Honestly this was my first champagne highlighter. My first one was my body shop bronzing dome in champagne (which is now done). I got this from my aunt a few Christmases ago and I can see the rings so I think I can hit pan by July

wetnwildcomfortzonemilaniblushhighlighterCategory 3: A product from a previous project. I chose Milani luminoso for this category.  I have never had a previous project BUT this is something that last summer I was determined to get use out of so I chose it for this category. Again, my first blush ever that wasn’t something my mom bought me! And the first item I bought because of YouTube hype. It’s actually got quite the dent in it and with spring (theoretically speaking) just around the corner I thought why not?

Category 4: A product you wouldn’t repurchase. So this might be a bit odd, but I went with the Wet n Wild comfort zone palette. Yes, I know, in the beauty world this is a cult classic. BUT I just never use it…like ever…..so my goal for this is to use one of the crease shades and the dark burgundy shade. It is high quality and a lot of the shades are dupes for MAC (which is a part of the reason I bought it) however realistically I don’t wear green eyeshadow or cool duochrome ones. So I’m going to focus on the more neutral shades and hopefully hit pan on the one shade! Goals friends, goals.

annabelleeyshadowCategory 5: An item from your favourite brand. One of my favourite brands in  Annabelle. I chose their chrome eyeshadow in rose gold. Again, I love this item. It’s more of a summer item but I think that I will be able to make even more of dent in the next four months

Category 6: A product of your choice. This was ambiguous but I chose the Annabelle lip lacquer in Adore Simply. This is most underrated brand in my opinion and one of my dare I say, favourite brands? I have been wanting to get more use of this one and have been really into lipgloss lately!

Things I liked and did in February

Ah February, or as i like to say, the shortest month in the universe. It was a decent month. I had reading week (my last one ever, tear) and it was basically my last month of semi – relaxing. March is all the events and all the assignments. But you know what, I am also (hoping) to start training for my half marathon. However, I had an incident with the stairs so I’m put on hold currently.

Whittle Buttons bo-boosk. My wee kitty bitty! I saw her on reading week, (my very last one) and I also got to see my mother and my bestest friend. Whenever I go home, I really appreciate the home vibe. I love the throwback to when I used to skate, and the easiness of having an at home gym set up and laundry. Back to Buttons, she is a lovely wee bean and is just such a little girl and is so affectionate! She also has the cutest meow (okay I will stop now but just look at this adorable photo) IMG_0755.jpg

While I was at home I did some cardio workouts in the basement because my town was an ice rink and I wore my blue gymshark seamless leggings. I have to tell you they didn’t show my sweat – at all. This was so impressive to me because I have long since been a hardcore black or super dark blue workout pant gal; but these impressed me. Good job gymshark, thank you for diversifying my bottom half of my workout wardrobe.

My physicians formula butter bronzer. Gee I forgot how great this was. Fun fact: this was my first bronzer EVER that’s right it’s probably 2 years old when I got it at Walmart two summer ago. It’s LITERALLY the never ending bronzer. It’s more of a sculpting bronzer than one that warms you up but I really like it for daily use, and then layer on a shimmery bronzer if I feel like it. They came out with a few more shades which is tempting but I must resist!

Decluttering lipsticks. Ahh letting go of my liquid lipstick phase. I finally parted my Colourpop liquid lipsticks, they just smelled so bad and same with my Too Faced one in Queen B! The only ones I haven’t brought myself to get rid of are the NYX soft Matte lip creams…they are just so good and creamy! I have tried time and time again and I just find myself not wanting to get rid of them. They are probably (embarrassingly) around two years old so its probably time for them to do, but I predict during spring cleaning I may have to part with them. But decluttering has really been enjoyable and at some point I’m going to have to move so decluttering was inevitable!

My project pan. This has really made me think about product, value and what I gravitate towards (hence my ongoing decluttering of products to pass onto friends). And it’s not that the colours or formulas of the products I’m not using are bad, but they are just not things I gravitate toward in my everyday. Which relates to the first point: when moving I want to lighten my load in all aspects of my material life.

Project Pan update

I’m so excited for my first project pan update. I’m so excited to share my progress. My last post I said that I had too many shades of blushes, and as I was looking at the stuff I bought, tried once, I thought; it’s time to give this to a friend. These products are amazing, but just not the right colour or just products I don’t truly need. Hence, my need to do this project and force myself to shop my stash! I hope you enjoy reading through the progress I’ve made! IMG_0868.jpg

Covergirl nudes: I have made so much progress on this. I have hit pan on my dark brown shade (been using that as a brow powder) and then my sparkly white shade for my brow bone colour. This is the one where visibly you can see I have actually made progess.

Colourpop lunch money highlighter (pictured below): the pan has expanded. Not by much but it has expanded and I’m so happy to see this. I use this literally everywhere that I want to highlight.

IMG_0865.jpgMy Pur Potted concealer: again, the metal part has expanded and I’m so happy to be done this. When I’m done this I have two other concealers to use up.

My 100% Pure lip caramel: I can’t really tell the progress on this one but I think it’s pretty good. I wear it pretty much every day and am starting to see the glass inside which is a good sign.  Not gonna lie, I forgot about my Mac lip liner in Oak….I keep forgetting to use it and misplacing it.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer: I don’t know? As I said before this is a never ending bronzer and I don’t think I have made a dent. This is literally the never ending bronzer.

IMG_0866.jpgThe NYX dark circle corrector: this wasn’t something that I used everyday leading up to this update but I have been trying to use it. However, I find it can be really difficult to use because I have got such a dent in it already getting my finger in there has been a doozy.

Thus far I have learned that this is a really good thing to keep me focused and second guessing myself when I see that drugstore lippie that I heard Rachhloves talking about but I know I have 4 similar shades sitting at home. I know that may seem like common sense to all of you cool folks, but for me this is something that is significant. We are always trying to find that “perfect” something and I think that can get really consumerist and make us lose sight of why we fell in love with beauty in the first place.

Let’s Talk Motivation

It’s snowing. It’s raining. It’s too hot. I’m tired. All excuses we all as runners have used before. Lately in my city, it’s been so snowy, and guess who doesn’t plow the sidewalks? The city. They are markers for ankle sprains and sore hips.

I have been missing more runs than I’d like and the reasons have been two fold: I’ve been lacking motivation to put my layers and hit the road and its hella snowy here and they don’t plow. I have been doing more HIIT workouts at home, going to the gym etc, and maybe running 2 days a week and at that shorter recovery runs. I have done a few above 5K.

However, I am starting half marathon training next month (pray for me folks) and I want to try and do as much running as possible.

My first tip: adjust your expectations for the length of your runs. Especially if you live in a city where they don’t plow anything. Even if you just get in 2km tempo run or 4km, it’s still a run, it’s still exercise and it’s still training.

My second tip: adjust your speed. I know, as so many runners know, when you are going slower than usual this is mentally tasking. Its hard, its not easy, I don’t care what anyone says, asthmatic or not, running is difficult. When the terrain is rough you have to slow it down so you don’t injure yourself, yes it’s frustrating if a 5K takes you 5 mins longer than usual but that’s the nature of the beast.

My third tip: enjoy the slight break from running. Add in more HIIT workouts to get cardio and keep your lungs going. Do cardio at the end of your strength workouts. YES none of these replace the feeling your lungs get when running. Also you can hit up the treadmill, but the treadmill is just not my cup of tea. I’d rather hit the storm outside! (and yes I have done this multiple times this winter).

Remember, sometimes not having motivation as a runner can be your body saying slow it down. Maybe that’s not true, but with this terrain my muscles, shins and knees are a lot more sore then when my terrain is smooth and I think it’s good to shorten distance when you are lacking motivation as to not get even more discouraged.

What do you do when you find yourself unmotivated?

Things I liked and did In January

January was such an odd month for me, I am in my last semester of university, I am a bit scared for what is afoot next year but excited. It was also a month where finding motivation (oddly enough) to run has been a bit lacking, but that is all part of the running journey! Despite my lack of motivation, I have discovered and rediscovered some great stuff!

First I discovered a new favourite legging. The Gymshark fit legging. Okay maybe not favourite but I have to be honest, when it comes to the gym I wear my lululemon aligns or fast and free crops 90% of the time. But, when I received these last month I started wearing them and they are great! Not as flattering as the aligns, but it’s exciting to find a brand that has leggings that ARE FLATTERING and fit, as well have great material. Stay tuned for a post about workout and running leggings!

My mineral fusion lip tints. These have been so nice to use when I want some colour but don’t want the fuss. when I need a red lip but don’t want to fuss these are great.

The Body Shop Drops Pure Translucency Essence Lotion. In December I bought this because i wanted to add more hydration to my routine. This is a great addition of hydration to my routine.  I layer this one after my toner and before my serum.

My DIY facial oil. This bad boy is made out of argan oil, lavender essential oil, tea tree essential oil and lemon essential oil and I really love it. I would like to try rosehip oil as my carrier oil next time as i make it cause that one is a bit more hydrating. BUT this keeps my spots at bay and hydrates my skin.

My crossroads candle in cranberry muffin. This was something that my best friend convinced me to buy. I have been guilty of loving bath and body works candles but they don’t last long at all and this is something that really bothers me. This candle smells natural, it’s a clean candle (meaning it burns clean into the air) and smells like fresh baking AND it burns so slowly which means it is worth the price.

My Favourite Nude Lipsticks

I do love bold lipsticks, but I also LOVE nude lipsticks. In fact I think I own far too many for one human. I thought I would give a shout out to my favourite nude lippies, all cruelty free!

100% Pure lip caramel in truffle. Yes, I know you are likely sick of hearing about this bad boy. BUT it’s beautiful. It’s a darker rose toned nude but still perfect for everyday. I like rubbing it into a lip balm for a stained effect.

Burt’s Bees lipstick in suede splash. This is a beige nude with a drop of pink in it. I love this lip colour and formula. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The first shade I bought was nile nude and I wasn’t overly enthralled since it was SO nude. But I got this shade after seeing the Anna Edit talk about it on her channel I bought it and I haven’t looked back.

Lush lipstick in perspective. Another youtube made me buy it, crueltyfreebecky recommended this is in one of her dupes videos. It is the PERFECT nude. As soon as I put it on, I know I can take on the day with a rose toned hues and a lipstick that is healthy and clean.

Milani nude creme. This is one of the first lipsticks I purchased for myself when I got into makeup in summer 2016. This is a really great nude. It’s not too brown and not too pink, it’s a great mix of both and I really enjoy that. It works every time and smells really good.

NYX Soft Matte Lip cream in Stockholm. These are 100% lippies I bought because I heard a ton about them on Youtube. BUT they remain the only liquid lipstick I actually like. They are matte, but they aren’t dry and crackly like other liquid lipsticks.

Tarte quench lip rescue in buff. This is a new one to my collection but its just so easy to use on the daily, is moisturizing and you don’t need a mirror. I like to take this one to school and use it on the go because it’s basically a glossy, peachy nude shade.

What is your go to nude lipstick?
